Provider of high-quality automatic bandsaws, Behringer Saws has rolled out a new laser-based measuring device to be used on its sawing, and pre-cut/post-cut material handling products. The BSI Laser Length Measuring System aids users in eradicating waste and saving time by confirming the dimensions of the material, to enhance material usage for consistent and precise cuts.
The laser measuring system has been designed for use on the company’s sawing systems that have handling components to move the materials into the workplace. It uses the laser technology to identify the material length to be processed. The laser unit identifies the material automatically, and sends the dimensions to a control panel. Then the user can move the material using roller conveyors to the accurate length for cutting. After the material is placed in the correct position, the user can make the cut.
The BSI Laser Measuring System offers precise measurements all the time, to confirm material size, and to increase the throughput of the completed goods. When the system is reset to zero, the operator’s control measures the length of the material part, which is moved forward towards the laser using roller conveyors. The user will be able to close the vise system and initiate the operation, when the material part is placed at the correct length. The system eradicates the need for manual measuring that lead to wasted materials and deviations during manufacturing.
