Provider of telecom solutions, Huawei offered assistance to BT for rolling out fibre-optic broadband services across the United Kingdom. All Locations in the country are presently being linked to high-speed broadband network.
BT recently announced that over 11,000 businesses and homes in Tettenhall will be connected to its fiber-optic infrastructure in few weeks. Huawei provided its support to BT for this deployment, by offering various access products that helped in decreasing operational and maintenance costs.
BT Openreach’s Chief Executive, Steve Robertson said both the companies have developed a strong relationship for many years. He added that the company is extending the relationship by selecting Huawei as their strategic partner for deploying Next Generation Access. Robertson also noted that BT would invest £2.5 billion in fibre-optic broadband technology.
