New GX62455 MZM Driver for 100G DP-QPSK Optical Transmitters

Supplier of advanced electronic and electro-optic devices, GigOptix, has introduced a new GX62455 Mach-Zenhder Modulator (MZM) driver for 100 G DP-QPSK applications. The GX62455 is a quad-channel 7.5Vpp MZM driver and is specifically developed for 100G DP-QPSK optical transmitters.

The GX62455 is a 32 Gb/s quad MZM driver and delivers high voltage output. It is available in a small form factor GPPO module, which contains high and low frequency chokes. The GPPO module does not need any external devices for quick and easy applications. The connectors in the MZM driver are compatible with the 100 G modulators and multiplexers to enable convenient system integration. The GX62455 MZM driver consumes 6 W of current.

GigOptix’s VP, Padraig O’Mathuna stated that the GX62455 driver supports 7.5 V output voltage and consumes minimal power. He added that the company is delighted to offer a physical layer solution that allows consumers to attain optimal system performance.
