New Cold Laser Therapy Uses Light Wavelengths to Cure Pain

The Low Level Laser Therapy, or otherwise known as cold laser therapy, is emerging as a new method of treatment for curing pain and accelerating the healing process.

The laser therapy is a non-invasive solution in alternative medicine and uses specific light wavelengths to interact with tissues and may help speed up the healing process. The laser therapy reduces spasms, eliminates pain and swelling and improves functionality, making it suitable for patients suffering from chronic and acute conditions.

A laser generates non-ionizing coherent light in near-visible or visible wavelengths. The light energy, at specific wavelengths, passes via  the skin and reaches the desired area. The area absorbs the light-sensitive elements present in the cell and interacts with them. A series of events is initiated by the light energy to normalize the injured tissue. This process is similar to the photosynthesis occurring in plants.

Craig Amrine, an acupuncturist, has been using the Low Level Laser Therapy as a part of his practice. According to him, the therapy is effective in reducing joint, back and neck pain and proves a key technique in alleviating patients’ chronic pain.
