Provider of electro-optic parts for 100G and 40G optical networks, GigOptix announced that the GX6155 modulator driver has been selected by CIVCOM.
The driver has been deployed in CIVCOM’s SFF (Small Form Factor) 10G 300PIN MSA (Multi-Source Agreement) Transponders. The GX6155 is a 12.5G Mach-Zehnder Modulator driver designed for long-haul and metro Lithium Niobate optical transmitters.
The modulator driver includes basic features such as low jitter degradation, high input sensitivity, low power dissipation, and supply voltages that are compatible with MSA. It also has the capacity to set the eye crossing point and output amplitude accurately. The modulator complies with RoHS-6, and it is non-RoHS soldering backward-compatible.
The GX6155 modulator driver is integrated in the Free Light Long Reach Tunable SFF 10G 300PIN MSA transponders of CIVCOM. The Free Light transponder series is used for DWDM application, hence, it provides better performance in cost-efficient SFF equipment. The SFF MSA transponder utilizes a laser that is widely tunable to cover the whole C-Band up to a maximum of 80 km. The modulator driver is available with Lithium Niobate modulators, offering flexibility to equipment manufacturers to select optimal solutions as per their customer requirements.
CIVCOM’s Chief Executive Officer, Gabby Shpirer stated that the GX6155 modulator driver allows the company to provide SFF MSA compliant and cost efficient products.
