New Packet Capture-Enabled Ethernet Testing Solution from EXFO

EXFO announced that it has implemented the packet-capture features in its Ethernet testing product line. The packet-capture functionality enables field technicians to capture and decode Ethernet traffic of 10 Mbps - 10 Gbps easily, at full line rate. This helps to isolate and assess the issues of application-layer configuration, effectively.

The addition of decode and packet-capture features to the company’s test modules provides a complete integrated solution for the assessment of end-to-end carrier Ethernet network. This allows field technicians to identify, assess and notify the problems of quality of service quickly, with the use of one test unit. The integration of the packet-capture features with the EtherSAM methodology revolutionizes the process of monitoring and troubleshooting carrier Ethernet services.

The Wireline Division and Corporate Marketing VP at EXPO, Etienne Gagnon stated that they will continue to offer new tools to improve the productivity and efficacy of field technicians. He added that the new packet capture functionality complements their EtherSAM test methodology in enhancing the efficiency of Ethernet network testing.
