Luminus and Epistar Announce Licensing Agreement for PhlatLight Technology

PhlatLight LED developer, Luminus Devices has announced a strategic licensing agreement with the LED-manufacturer, Epistar for the production of LEDs using the PhlatLight platform. The agreement further confirms the strength of the patent portfolio of Luminus.

The new agreement demonstrates that the LEDs manufactured with PhlatLight technology provide high reliability and brightness. The PhlatLight big-chip LEDs are utilized in different display applications by various lighting and electronics companies across the globe. These LEDs also open up new lighting applications in illumination markets such as digital signage and displays, UV for industrial processing, roadways, entertainment, architectural, and industrial high-bay lighting.

Luminus Devices’ Chief Technology Officer, Alexei Erchak stated that this licensing agreement improves their partnership with Epistar. He added that the agreement will allow Epistar to commercialize the  PhlatLight technology-based LEDs. Luminus will continue to concentrate on bright big-chip LEDs production, Erchak said. Epistar’s President, Ming-Jiunn Jou said that they are delighted to extend their association with Luminus.
