Developer of IR spectroscopy sensors, Block Engineering, has introduced a new series of next-generation spectrometers. The advanced spectrometers are based on the tunable QCLs (Quantum Cascade Lasers). The new products will be displayed at the American Chemical Society Exposition. The event will be held in Boston from 22 to 26 August 2010.
Block Engineering’s Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, Adam Erlich, stated that the QCLs are used in a number of applications and have attracted significant interest from government and commercial clients. In view of this interest, the company has launched three new spectrometers namely the LaserTune, the LaserScope and the LaserScan. The products deliver better performance than standard FTIR spectrometers, and this improved performance has attracted major interest from pharmaceutical and chemical organizations, life science researchers and plastic product developers, Erlich said.
Block Engineering’s Chief Executive Officer, Petros Kotidis, informed that the new spectrometers have been manufactured in record time. The company is pleased that the products are meeting its customers’ requirements, Kotidis, said.
