Lighting Science Group’s energy-efficient LED street lights have been deployed to illuminate the Banyeres de Mariola Alicante streets in Spain. The PROLIFIC lighting series is 50% more efficient than conventional HID street lights and offers uniform distribution of light. The street lights do not require any maintenance and reduce power consumption.
The PROFILIC lighting series is tested under the LM-79 process to ensure reliability and performance. The CALiPER program of the U.S. Department of Energy has approved the LM-79 process. The LED technology removes expensive re-ballasting and re-lamping of the HID lights. Direct line wiring is utilized instead of capacitors or starters to reduce maintenance problems.
Banyeres de Mariola Alicante’s Mayor, Antonio Belda Valero, stated that the LED lights, manufactured by Lighting Science, deliver better performance; they are also durable and cost-efficient than other products available in the market.
Lighting Science Group’s CEO, Zach Gibler stated that the PROLIFIC street lights are ideal for cities and communities looking for reduced power consumption.
