Wireless and broadband service provider, Verizon, has announced that it will expand its FiOS TV services in the Westchester County, New York. A franchise agreement, approved by the Pelham Village Board, has authorized Verizon to deliver next-generation FiOS TV service to homes and enterprises across sophisticated fiber-optic networks.
The FIOS TV provides 595 channels, including 38 high-definition (HD) channels with superior sound and clarity. The FIOS TV offers a number of interactive services such as multi-room DVR, remote DVR management, entertainment, news and television widgets and a sophisticated interactive media guide.
The FIOS TV provides programming options for Russian, Asian, African-American and Hispanic audiences, among others. Verizon fiber-optic network provides better sound and picture quality and can transmit an extensive range of intense, clear and high-definition programs to enhance viewers’ experience. The fiber-optic network also provides internet upload and download speeds of 35 Mbps and 50 Mbps, respectively along with quality voice service.
Verizon will also deliver the FiOS TV services to a number of New York municipalities such as Cayuga County, Onondaga County, Putnam County, Erie County, Orange County, Dutchess County, Rockland County and Long Island.
