The Bay Area Foot & Laser Podiatry Group announced that it has performed the 1000th cosmetic laser procedure. Dr. Mark Wolpa, who has four offices in California, is using the PinPointe FootLaser for treating toenail fungus.
The toenail fungus disease affects about 40 million people of America. Since February 2009, Dr. Wolpa has successfully conducted above 1,000 treatments of the toenail fungus condition. The PinPointe FootLaser treatment is the most preferred treatment amongst his patients. According to the estimated statistics, 50% of the American population above the age of 40 suffers from the disease. However, there was no proper treatment for the disease, until the launch of the PinPointe FootLaser.
Dr. Wolpa stated that the topical treatments have delivered unsatisfactory performance. He added that oral antifungal medication causes side effects, and requires to be taken for a three-month period. The PinPointe FootLaser beam penetrates into the nail bed effectively, safely and fastly, and immediately vaporizes the fungus, Dr. Wolpa said. He noted that laser procedure produces a healthy, tidy nail in around 30 min.
