Energy-Efficient LED Bulbs Reduce Carbon Emissions

According to Gallup Worldview’s report,  majority of Australians are concerned about climate change, but fewer attribute this change to human activities.

The number of Australians who believe that human activity is responsible for the climate change has decreased to 44% in March 2010 from 52% in June 2008, while the percentage of Australians who believe that natural cause is responsible for the climate change has increased to 31% in 2009 from 21% in 2008.

However, in spite of the changing mindset over the climate change, the market is being flooded with eco-friendly products such as LED lighting systems. The LED lighting market is anticipated to reach €15.5 billion by the year 2012.

The LED lighting products are more-energy-efficient compared to conventional incandescent light bulbs, and adoption of the LED bulbs can decrease 246 metric tons of carbon emissions across the U.S. alone. Europe plans to adopt complete LED lighting solutions by 2016.

Hot Beam, an Australian-based manufacturer, has unveiled a new range of the Streamline LED strip lamps, which can be hung from ceilings or placed on the tables. The LED strip lamps feature changeable LED modules, which make the illumination source more flexible than the LED lamps.
