AboveNet to Deploy Fiber-Optic Metro Network in Denver

High-bandwidth connectivity solution provider, AboveNet, has delivered a new fiber-optic metro network solution in Denver. This service expansion in Denver allows it to become AboveNet’s latest market for commercial business.

AboveNet’s fiber-optics network in Denver will extend across 97 route miles with 216 and 432 optic fiber cables, providing a total of 23,000 fiber route miles to support the business activities of large organizations and Fortune 1000 companies.

AboveNet has started selling the fiber connectivity solutions to Denver customers. The dark fiber’s installations and certain lit services will be available by January 2011.

According to the May 2010 report, the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation, a number of Fortune 1000 companies such as internet services, media, retailing, telecommunications, and financial data service organizations are based in Denver.

AboveNet’s Sales and Marketing VP, John Jacquay, stated that the company is delighted to introduce its new fiber optic metro network in Denver. He added that the company has noticed significant opportunities to offer low latency connectivity solutions to major business organizations in the fiber connectivity market.
