Manufacturer of law enforcement products, Digital Ally announced that its LaserAlly LIDAR system is compliant with the performance specifications of International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP). On July 30, 2010 the LaserAlly system was added to the IACP CPL (Conforming Product List) for enforcement-technology devices.
The lightweight, compact LIDAR system has been designed for highway-safety program applications. It is both reliable and precise, if maintained and operated properly. The new system can detect the direction and speed of a vehicle in 1/3 of a second. The LaserAlly system features an extended range even when it has to function through a vehicle’s windshield, allowing patrol officers to remain in their vehicles.
The system can read through obstacles such as adverse weather, congested traffic, and glass. The LaserAlly LIDAR system was the only device that did not get jammed in a latest third-party test. It features a True Color 1:1 Heads-Up Display, continuous tracking along with audio, enhanced alignment stability, and accuracy locking and internal accuracy tests to decrease eyestrain and for precise vehicle identification. The system is user-friendly and waterproof, and also offers a maximum of 32-hour battery life.
Digital Ally’s VP of Sales and Marketing, Ken McCoy stated that the commercial production of the LaserAlly system would begin before the present quarter end.
