China to Become the Largest Optical Fiber Market in Asia

Frbiz has released an optical fiber market report, according to which, China will overtake Japan and become the leading optical fiber market in Asia by the end of 2011. By that time, China will have its operation in 25.9 million fiber access routes.

The report forecasts that FTTx market share will increase to 30.9% by 2015. The net increment of the broadband users will grow to 19 million in 2010 and will reach 24 million in 2015.

The analysts at Pyramid Research stated that the utilization of faster fiber connection will allow the growth of China’s fixed service revenue. The industry is anticipated to invest almost US$22 billion, in the following three years for optical networks deployment and make the total number of interfaces to 80 million from 20 million.
