Provider of network test solutions, EXFO, has announced increase in the processing speed of its Power Blazer FTB-8130NGE and FTB-8120NGE multi-service test modules. The test devices provide Ethernet, packet-OTN, and SONET/SDH test capabilities.

The enhancements of EXPO platform technology has enabled the test modules to function at four times faster speed. The usability enhancements and the higher speed increase the field technicians’ efficiency in their operations. The FTB-8120NGE handles up to 2.7 Gbps of OTN/SDH/SONET testing rates and up to 1 Gbps of Ethernet testing rates. The FTB-8120NGE is especially designed for the Ethernet-over-SONET/SDH/OTN and Ethernet-over-TDM service deployments.
The FTB-8130NGE Power Blazer is ideal for the packet optical networks, and it supports up to 11.1 Gbps of SONET/SDH/Ethernet/OTN testing rates. The FTB-8130NGE test module also handles the testing rates of 10 Gigabit Ethernet WAN and LAN.
The VP of Wireline Division and Corporate Marketing at EXFO, Étienne Gagnon, stated that they are the first company to integrate SONET/SDH, OTN, and Ethernet test capabilities into one device.
