Provider of fiber optic instruments and optical devices, GAO Fiber Optics, has unveiled a new handheld 08121 power meter for fiber optics, CATV maintenance and telecommunication facilities.
The power meter has an identification frequency range between 10 Hz to 60 kHz and is capable of measuring both the relative loss and absolute power of the fiber optic cables.
The 08121 power meter has an auto frequency identification that offers easy and improved measurement performance. The power meter also provides high test precision, fast speed and diverse power measurement range. The device can test the optical power within 800-1650 nm wavelength. Some of the pre-calibrated wavelengths are 1550, 1490, 1310, 1300, 980 and 850 nm.
The 08121 displays the power output in dB, dBm and mW on the LCD screen; it transmits the data through a RS232 communication port and can store up to 240 records.
The power meter provides ST, SC and FC connectors and contains a 2.5 mm adaptor. The device is dust and water resistant and delivers swift response without needing any warm up time.
