New Automatic 2D Flying Optic Laser System from Han-Kwang

Han-Kwang USA, manufacturer of laser cutting systems, has introduced a fully automatic flying optic laser system to handle 120 x 60-inch sized workpieces.

The PS 3015 2D flying laser system features 7900 ipm X-Y axis speed, 4724 ipm single axis speed, and an 1181 ipm cutting speed. These features offer positioning accuracies, which is better than +/- 0.004”/118”. The repeatability is rated to 0.001”.

The  PS 3015 has a compact gantry arrangement that improves operators’ vision and the small design assists in the cutting process regulation. The optic laser system is also equipped with a CO2 laser resonator from Panasonic in 6, 4 and 2.5 kW versions. The beam radius control in the system optimizes the diameter of the beam for numerous thickness variations and material substrates, promoting enhanced part quality. These features are provided to the user through the S5 cutting head in the laser system.

A plasma monitoring unit present in the laser system tracks the cutting errors to minimize out-of-tolerance conditions. The laser system has a lens crack sensor that monitors the lens contamination level by issuing instant signals via the Siemens CNC. The Siemens SINUMERIK 840D CNC controls all the laser-cutting operations.

The CNC, with plain language commands, 10 GB hard drive and an open architecture, allows quick start-up for the operators and programmers.

The laser system has a unique remote service support that enables online communication with CNC makers for troubleshooting assistance.
