ReportsandReports has released a new market report titled ‘LED and Energy Efficient Lighting Worldwide Markets: Indoor, Outdoor, Residential, Commercial’.
The research report analyzes the technologies namely cold cathode fluorescent lights (CCFLs), organic light emitting diodes, compact fluorescent lights (CFLs) and light emitting diodes (LEDs) and their applications in vehicular lighting, electronic displays, illuminated signage, and general illumination applications.
According to the report, the CFL is set anticipated to become the major provider of residential lighting. However, the durability of the CFL has reduced the sales significantly. The CFL imports in the U.S. increased from 144 million modules in 2005 to 460 million modules in 2007. However, in 2009, the CFL import dropped to 317 million modules.
Rapid advancements are being made to develop white LEDs as they are brighter and exhibit natural colors. The HB-LEDs (high-brights LEDs) are expected to be widely used in back-lighting applications to promote brighter, lighter and thinner displays. However, organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) are yet to make an impact in the global lighting market.
