World's Smallest DPSS Laser from KLASTECH

KLASTECH-Karpushko Laser Technologies introduced a new DPSS laser at the Photonics West 2010. The 266 nm laser is ideal for using in UV spectroscopy and semiconductor inspection. The laser, also known as the VERVE, offers a CW (Continuous Wave) output at a wavelength of 266 nm.

CW DPSS laser

The VERVE employs KLASTECH’s advanced laser technology that offers improved second harmonic conversion efficiency than the conventional architectures. The laser technology uses a design that matches the dual cavity impedance to ensure that the generation of fundamental wavelength remains high all the times. As a result, a quadratic increase is noticed in the second harmonic generation. The same methodology is used to generate 266 nm and to further improve the fourth harmonic generation.

The 100 mW laser does not require water-cooling, reduces heat generation and power consumption, and remains stable throughout the operation. The VERVE offers diffraction limited output beams, noiseless operation and power stability less than 2%.
