NEC Display Solutions of America has added a new LED-backlit LCD monitor, the MultiSync E231W display, in its 23-inch desktop series. The desktop display is targeted towards business customers looking for cost-effective and energy-efficient solutions.

The MultiSync E231W offers superior features that improve productivity and desktop computing experience. For instance, users can use the wide LCD screen to open a number of applications at the same time, while the pivot, tilt, swivel and height adjustment options provide improved comfort. The desktop display has EPEAT Gold rating.
The MultiSync E231W includes an ambient light sensor for sensing light sources and tuning the brightness accordingly. The ‘ECO Mode’ feature in the LCD monitor reduces heat and power consumption, and the carbon footprint meter determines the reductions of green gas emissions. The IPM (Intelligent Power Manager) saves energy and cuts down CO2 emissions by switching off the monitor automatically when it is not in use or switching to a low-power status.
NEC Display Solutions’ Product Manager, Lynn Gu, stated that the monitor utilizes an LED-backlit panel that saves 40% of energy costs and provides an eco-friendly solution to the customers.
