The transceiver supports both Fibre Channel 2.12Gbps and 1.06Gbps duplex links with a 28dB optical link budget, and Gigabit Ethernet 1.25Gbps duplex links with a 29dB budget. The 1000BASE Cisco compatible transceiver includes a receiver and a transmitter that are integrated inside a single housing.

The transceiver complies with the laser Class 1 21CFR1040 standards and the ITU G.694.2 CWDM grid. It functions at 1290nm wavelength, while provides a dual LC/PC connector and a SFP interface for connecting the network. The transceiver also complies with the Fibre Channel draft physical interface specification and the 1000BASE-X standard as per the IEEE 802.3z specification.
