MRV Unveils New Fiber Driver Optical Ethernet Solution

Provider of Carrier Ethernet solutions, MRV Communications has launched the new Fiber Driver EM316EUSM-10G EUSM (Ethernet Universal Service Module), for providing transparent high-speed EPL (Ethernet private line) services for use in bookend pair.

The fiber driver complements the OptiSwitch intelligent 10G Ethernet demarcation products. Thus the driver offers service providers an exhaustive 10G Ethernet portfolio to deploy high-speed Ethernet services.

The EM316EUSM-10G CO/CPE pair offers a carrier-to-customer network connection, which divides the downstream network from the upstream WAN network. The downstream network can be either a peer carrier network or a LAN. The bookend pair EUSM solution manages both the ends of the fiber optic link by using the expanded IEEE 802.3ah maintenance, administration, and operation protocols.

The EM316EUSM-10G fiber driver provides flexibility in configuration by offering two modular XFP ports, which support 10G Ethernet traffic over various optical links to a maximum of 100 km. The module also offers two SFP+ access ports, which are exchangeable with 10G Ethernet interfaces.

MRV Communications’ CEO, Dilip Singh, stated that their customers deliver quality Ethernet services, with less capital and operating expenses by using the EM316EUSM-10G Fiber Driver.
