GigOptix Ships GX6261 DQPSK System Used for Optical Transponders

Supplier of electro-optic and electronic components, GigOptix, announced that it is shipping its GX6261 DQPSK (Differential Quadrature Phase Shift Keying) system to Tier 1 customers along with the GX3220 and the GX3240 DQPSK receiver amplifiers.

The GX6261 system is a high-voltage differential driver for application in 40G DQSPK Mach-Zehnder modulators, which are used in metro and long-haul optical transponders. Major attributes of the GX6261 system include good electrical eye performance, compact footprint, and low-power dissipation. As two drivers are used for each DQPSK transponder, the system saves 2W for each transponder.

The VP of Marketing, GigOptix, Padraig O’Mathuna, said that 40G DQPSK systems are being deployed in metropolitan networks to cost-effectively address the bottleneck problems caused by the growing usage of IPTV and Smartphones. He further commented that the company is in a good position to utilize the market demand for increased bandwidth with their GX6261 driver, as well as GX3220 and GX3240 40G DQPSK receiver amplifiers.
