An artist co-operative gallery, Gallery One Twenty One, has replaced its entire lighting system with Lumicrest’s advanced LED lights. The revamped gallery now sports an enhanced look and saves as much as 82% of energy expenditures.
The gallery’s total energy consumption was reduced to 340 W, which significantly reduced the amount of heat generated in the place. In addition, the LED lights do not produce any harmful ultraviolet light that usually damages the artworks and serves no practical illumination. The Lumicrest’s LED lights have longer lamp life and save bulb replacement costs compared to traditional halogen lights.
Lumicrest’s President, David Geldart, stated that in addition to being energy-efficient, lighting systems should also be efficient and must lend a visual impact. Traditional fluorescents lights contain toxic mercury and do not provide an optimal lighting solution.
Dona Knudsen, Belleville Artists Association’s President and a member artist, commented that Lumicrest’s LED lighting is effective and inconspicuous.
