Manufacturer of personal computers, Apple has launched the new 27” LED Cinema Display that offers high resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The display provides screen real estate 60% more than the 24” LED Cinema Displays.
The 27” display features a universal MagSafe connector that keeps the Mac notebooks charged, a USB 2.0 hub to charge iPod or iPhone, speakers and microphone, and an inbuilt iSight video camera for video conferencing.
The LED Cinema Display has a 16:9 glass display on a stand made of aluminum. The stand has an adjustable hinge, which allows the display to be tilted easily. The display also uses an in-plane switching (IPS) display technology that delivers high quality images across wide viewing angle. The Cinema Display is made of arsenic-free glass and mercury-free LED technology. It has achieved the EPEAT Gold status and has met the Energy Star 5.0 requirements.
The SVP of Worldwide Product Marketing at Apple, Philip Schiller, stated that the product would enable iMac users to increase their screen real estate easily. The high resolution of the display is ideal for the new Mac Pro, he added.
