Dell'Oro Group’s New Report on Optical Transport Industry

Dell'Oro Group has published a five-year forecast report on the Optical Transport industry providing a comprehensive study of the Optical Transport industry and covers the average selling prices, revenue, unit shipments, and Wavelength or Tributary/Line shipments of the manufacturers.

According to the report, the revenues of the global DWDM Optical Transport equipment is expected to reach $9.3 billion in 2014, with more than $3 billion coming from 40/100 Gbps and includes the optical switch, multiservice SONET/SDH, WDM metro, and DWDM long-haul terrestrial equipment.

Dell'Oro Group’s Optical Transport research Sr. Director, Jimmy Yu, stated that the 40 Gbps DWDM is expected to continue its growth despite the 100 Gbps DWDM’s availability and show a 55 % CAGR in the next five years due to the 100 Gbps’ price premium . The expected increase in the shipment of the 100 Gbps DWDM will not ensue until the latter part of 2012
