GAO Instruments, a manufacturer of electronic measurement instruments, has launched a new test instrument that is ideally suitable for CATV maintenance and telecommunications.
The hardy optical power meter is useful for both field-testing as well as fiber optics test labs. The power meter can also be used for evaluating relative loss and absolute optical power in fiber optic systems.
The handy A0670005 optical power meter, tests power within the 800 to 1650nm wavelength range and displays the power in dBm, dB and mW. It also provides calibrated wavelengths that includes 1550, 1310, 980 and 850 nm. The power meter has a swift response time and contains a water and dust resistant design.
The optical power meter, has a outsized battery capacity that allows incessant operation of the meter for a maximum of 28 hours and trims down errors because of its automatic wavelength recognition capability. The meter is also energy-efficient, because it automatically shuts down if it is inactive for more than 10 minutes.
