Spheron to Showcase New HDR Camera at Siggraph 2010

Imaging optics and precision equipment company, Spheron VR AG, will display its new version of High Dynamic Range camera, the SpheroCam HDR, at Siggraph 2010. The Siggraph 2010 is the 37th International Conference on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques and will be held in July 2010 in USA.

SpheroCam HDR

The SpheroCam camera is widely used for 3D advertisements and major Hollywood film productions. The camera can capture 360º spherical images in one scan and records spatial data by utilizing its advanced three-dimensional immersive measurement technology. This 3D technology allows the computer graphic (CG) objects to be positioned in any location.  The camera offers up to 50 mega-pixels clarity and 26 f-stops of exposure to produce superior image quality for three-dimensional image-based rendering methods.

The Visual Effects Society’s board member, Tim McGoveron, stated that the SpheroCam camera solves FX data gathering problems during film productions, and the Spheron technology delivers a precise and faster solution in the filmmaking area.
