Prima Industrie, manufacturer of laser cutting systems, has launched a new, advanced laser machine called the Maximo large cutting system. The company introduced the cutting system via its South African distributor, First Cut.
The Maximo system is a comprehensive Platino machine featuring a focusing head, optical chain, computer numerical control, laser generator and moving carriages. The cutting system is based on the Platino 2-D (two-dimensional) laser machine, and can be equipped with piece supporting tables and applicable devices for scrap collection and fume extraction.
The cutting system incorporates a number of features such as an automatic restart and plasma monitoring, a laser piercing monitor, and a fast-piercing component for thick ferrous materials. The Maximo has an Y2-axis that enables it to move past the Y1-axis stroke.
Andrew Poole, Director of First Cut, informed that the laser system moves on rails on a fixed working table and can process sheets of different lengths. The Maximo system provides ease of operation, he said.
Steve van Wyk, Director of First Cut, commented that the Maximo features an adjustable focal position, an offline 2-D computer-assisted design, a rapid lens-changing system, and a nesting software package for fast and easy programming.
