DALSA has unveiled a new, advanced embedded system called the GigE Vision Appliance (GEVA) for GigE camera applications. The company’s machine vision solutions include smart cameras and multi-camera embedded equipment.
The GEVA is specifically developed for those applications that require high-resolution, superior processing and multiple cameras. The GEVA is compact in size to facilitate easy system integration and features a high-speed memory and an advanced dual core processor to meet complex imaging applications.
The GEVA is integrated with two GigE camera ports, which can support eight mono cameras imaging applications. The camera ports can be used with a number of line scan, areas scan, color and mono GigE cameras in a wide range of resolutions. These resolutions can be mixed to suit the required application. Camera expansion can be realized by utilizing network technologies, enabling huge configurations cost-efficiently.
The GEVA also contains an opto-isolated I/O for interfacing the equipment, strobe outputs for controlling the light, trigger inputs for inspection timing and USB ports for runtime and setup control.
The GEVA’s vision solutions are installed by utilizing DALSA’s Sherlock or iNspect application software. The GEVA is also integrated with software emulators that enable users to debug or develop the applications offline.
