LCD displays and projector manufacturer, NEC Display Solutions, announced that its digital cinema projector series meets Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI) compliance. NEC’s projectors are the first to receive the DCI compliance. The projectors include the NC3200S, the NC2000C and the NC1200C series.
The NC3200S offers 31,000 lumen brightness for 105 feet wide screens, the NC2000C at 17,000 lumens for 65 feet wide screens, and the NC1200C at 9,000 lumens for 46 feet wide screens.
Keio University’s Research Institute for Digital Media and Content conducted the tests. The institute, based in Japan, is one of the three centers licensed by DCI to execute the CTP tests. The projectors were certified in DCSS CTP Version 1.1 and DCSS (Digital Cinema System Specification) Version 1.2.
NEC Display Solutions’ President, Pierre Richer, stated that the DCI compliance marks a significant milestone and reinforces the company’s position in the projector industry. He added that the company is actively engaged in providing innovative programs to improve its products.
