MRV Communications announced that it has joined the HDS (Hitachi Data Systems) Solution Alliance. MRV also announced that HDS has qualified its LambdaDriver WDM (wavelength division multiplexing) optical transport system for the support of HDS’ TrueCopy software.
LambdaDriver WDM system is a small, dense and coarse WDM system that has diverse optical networking chassis and modules, and a flexible architecture. The WDM system features supported data rates in the range of 8Mbps - 40Gbps. The system is a reliable solution for SAN (storage area networking) optical extension, and it is a suitable solution for ultra-low latency. The system can be flawlessly upgraded to support data rates of 100 Gbps.
The LambdaDriver has been qualified for extended distant connectivity and it supports the TrueCopy Remote Replication software of HDS. The TrueCopy software offers host-independent, nondisruptive remote data replication for data migration, or disaster recovery across any distance. The combination of LambdaDriver and TrueCopy enables users to transmit high-bandwidth traffic with better reliability and minimal delays.
The CEO of MRV Communications, Dilip Singh, said that joining the HDS alliance enables them to provide customers with high-performance and cost-efficient remote storage connectivity. He noted that their service provider and enterprise customers use LambdaDriver reliably to interlink their SAN islands.
