Catch the Wind Enters Deal to Certify Laser Wind Sensor

Catch the Wind announced that it has signed a deal with GL Renewables Certification (GL) for the safety and performance certification for the Vindicator laser wind sensor (LWS).

The certification is for the installed LWS that can be installed on wind turbines, to evaluate the functionality of wind direction measurement, yaw control, and wind speed. The GL certification will be applicable for all models and brands of utility-scale wind turbines. Catch the Wind expects the certification process to be completed in October 2010.

The Chief Executive Officer of Catch the Wind, Phil Rogers, said that the certification matches their strategy to work with main wind energy players to evaluate the Vindicator performance. He added that the company believed a third party validation of their LWS would end in quicker market acceptance.
