mSilica Selects VIS as Foundry Partner for Semiconductor Wafer Production

mSilica has selected a Taiwan-based company, Vanguard International Semiconductor (VIS), as one of its major foundries for the production of semiconductor wafers. VIS delivers customized HV and BCD processes that are used for mSilica’s design needs.

The Chief Technical Officer of mSilica, Dilip S, stated that VIS enables the company to deliver high-quality LED drivers, and the BCD processes allows them to design algorithmic, precision and power circuits easily and effectively.

The President of Vanguard, Leuh Fang, said that the company has provided unique analog power management processes to mSilica. High voltage processes, ranging from sub-0.5um complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor (CMOS) with a voltage support from 16-800 V, enables the design of advanced LED driver ICs.

mSilica, headquartered in California, supplies advanced LED driver ICs for solid state illumination and LED backlighting applications such as monitors, LCD  televisions and specialty panels.
