SoloPower Unveils New CIGS Solar Photovoltaic Modules at InterSolar 2010

SoloPower has launched a new, advanced thin-film photovoltaic (PV) module called the SFX1-i. The PV module is lightweight and flexible and is made of Copper Indium Gallium Selenide (CIGS) material. The company will display the new solar PV module at the InterSolar 2010 event in San Francisco.

SoloPower manufactures high-power PV modules by using a unique roll-to-roll electrodeposition process that provides significant cost advantages such as superior material utilization, high line throughput and low capital expenditures. In addition to the SFX1-i module, SoloPower also offers the SFX2 and SFX1-i3 modules. The combination of optimized product design and low-cost structure makes the SFX1-i module a suitable solution for industrial and commercial roof applications.

The solar modules will be available for commercial applications from the mid-year of 2010. Moreover, SoloPower is also increasing its production capacity to meet the growing demand for PV modules.

The Chief Executive Officer of SoloPower, Tim Harris, stated that the company’s CIGS modules will become a trendsetter in the solar industry, and will enable customers to increase their profits significantly.
