PiezoMove® Flexure Actuators from PI

This video shows the operating principle of the Piezomove® flexure actuators from PI. In nanopositioning technology, flexure guides have shown to be appropriate for positioning tasks of up to several millimeters. The motion of a flexure joint is based on the elastic deformation of a solid. This prevents any static, sliding, or rolling friction. Flexures require little to no maintenance. They can be manufactured from nonmagnetic materials. Since flexures do not require lubricants or consumables, they also function in a vacuum without any problem.
