PILine® Piezomotors—Operating Principle

This video shows the operating principle of PILine ultrasonic piezomotors. The piezoceramic actuator forms an integral part of ultrasonic piezomotor. The actuator is excited to ultrasonic vibrations with a high-frequency electric signal (100 to 200 kHz). The deformation of the actuator results in periodic diagonal motion of the coupling element to the runner. The created feed is about 10 nm per cycle. High velocities can be obtained with high frequencies.
