Leica Microsystems announced that it has entered into a strategic alliance with KaVo Dental to develop and market its dental products in European countries. Under the collaboration, KaVo will first begin to market Leica’s dental microscopes in Switzerland, Poland, Germany, UK, Russia, France, Austria and Benelux.
The objective of the partnership is to offer the advanced, high quality microscopy systems to dentists. This adds more value to the dentists as they can incorporate a dental microscope into their present treatment unit and boost the workflow.
The Leica HM500 and Leica M320 microscopes are custom-made for the current dental surgery’s requirements. These instruments combine the qualities of Leica Optics with features such as ergonomic control, user-friendliness, advanced functional design, and elegance.
Leica Microsystems’ Director of Surgical Business Unit, Herbert Stüttler, stated that entering the dental market with KaVo enables the expansion of the company’s position in the marketplace for surgical microscopes. He added that they are expecting the feedback from KaVo’s customers to develop more innovations in the area of dental microscopy. Stüttler also noted that the wide distribution network of KaVo would give them maximum access to the market.
