ADTRAN Total Access 5000 Platform Selected by LaWard Telephones

ADTRAN announced that its Total Access 300 Series of ONTs and the Total Access 5000 Multi-Service Access and Aggregation Platform have been selected by LaWard Telephone Exchange for its fiber-based GPON services.

LaWard Telephones would enhance its network infrastructure services by using the ADTRAN solutions. The solution will enable the company to offer advanced services to existing customers, and extend its fiber services to the rural areas.

ADTRAN Total Access 5000 platform

The Total Access 5000 platform helps to connect the current and next generation networks. It supports both emerging and legacy service interfaces, as Ethernet is the base of the platform. The easily scalable Ethernet architecture allows the Total Access 5000 to support applications that are bandwidth-intensive.

The Plant Manager of LaWard Telephones, Nick Strauss, said that the unique technology of ADTRAN allowed the company to reach customers, without the addition of any equipment cabinet in the field. This helped in the reduction of FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) deployment costs. He further commented that the 5000 platform was the best long term fiber-optic solution because of its flexibility and capabilities.

Vice President of Sales at ADTRAN, P. Steven Locke, stated that their GPON OLT delivers 30km reach for each PON, and enables a full 32-way split, offering economical fiber deployments.
