The FDA's recent clearance of a hand-held laser device to treat hair loss and grow hair has generated a surge of consumer interest in the new technology - and one U.S. manufacturer is taking the lead by developing the nation's most comprehensive sales and service program to help physicians meet the growing demand.
"Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) has enormous potential in the hair restoration industry and may soon become as common in treating hair loss as Rogaine and Propecia," said John Carullo, Director of Marketing, Sunetics International. "Due to its high success rate with both male and female patients, the potential is huge, and so too is the market. To help hair restoration physicians and dermatologists meet this growing demand, Sunetics is implementing the nation's most comprehensive sales, service and delivery platform to provide them with the best LLLT products."
As part of its expanded national efforts, Sunetics International, a top U.S. manufacturer of low level laser products, recently appointed former Merck & Co. senior executive Elizabeth Ashe-Lucas as the company's National Account Executive. Ashe-Lucas has 21 years of experience in the medical industry, including a decade specializing in hair loss treatments. She also played a key role in the early marketing of FDA-approved PropeciaR to doctors and health care practitioners.
"As a former Merck executive and expert in the hair loss industry, Elizabeth Ashe-Lucas will be an important part of our efforts to build the nation's most comprehensives sales, service and delivery network, supplying top quality LLLT hoods and hand-held units to physicians, health care providers and direct to consumers."
As a National Account Executive, Ashe-Lucas will develop and implement sales and service strategies to meet the current and future needs of Sunetics' nationwide customers. She will also have sales responsibility for new products and line extensions as they are developed. To support Sunetics' leadership position as the premier provider of lasers within the field of LLLT, Ashe-Lucas will maintain and develop further relationships at all levels of the customer organization and work closely with internal departments such as customer service, IT, marketing and finance.
Proven effectiveness with lasers:
"Low Level Laser Therapy has shown great potential for treating certain types of male and female hair loss," said Alan J. Bauman, M.D., a prominent hair restoration physician and one of the nation's top experts on hair loss. "Laser therapy is an important part of a multi-therapy approach to restoring lost hair."
Dr. Bauman has been using Sunetics' laser devices since 2003. According to Dr. Bauman, LLLT is believed to reactivate hair growth by stimulating live, but weakened, follicles at the cellular level
Sunetics International's own clinical surveys have shown that as a result of its laser therapy program, 86-percent of patients reported healthier hair, 78-percent claimed to have thicker hair and 76-percent had fuller hair and 85-percent of clients were satisfied overall.
