Axis Three, the leader and pioneer of 3D surgical simulation tools for aesthetic consultations, today announced the availability of its new XS-200 scanner, designed to capture high quality, anatomically-accurate, 3D images of a patient’s face in order to simulate facial surgery outcomes.
The XS-200 complements the Company’s recently launched Face Simulation software module for nose, chin, cheek and jaw procedures. Combined with Axis Three’s software package, the XS-200 enables surgeons and their staff to show patients, in 3D, how they will look post-surgery, redefining the aesthetic consultation experience for patients undergoing face procedures.
Developed by Axis Three’s team of 3D experts, who boast more than 100 man years of 3D experience, the XS-200 is a sleek, desk-mountable unit specifically optimized to capture the face topology with a minimal hardware footprint. With a modular, plug and play design, the scanner is easy to install and attaches directly to the USB port of a surgeon’s computer. The unit incorporates three high-resolution imaging heads and a Color Coded Triangulation (CCT®) algorithm, which enables precise 3D image capture within a compact hardware footprint. When combined with Axis Three’s proven 3D simulation software, the result is a more positive patient experience, greater patient satisfaction post-surgery, and an incredibly easy way for surgeons to quickly realize their return on time and investment.
For years, board-certified plastic surgeons have used Axis Three products to show patients undergoing breast procedures a more accurate visualization of the surgical outcome prior to surgery. The XS-200, a small desktop unit, is designed specifically for 3D facial simulations in order to meet the unique needs of surgeons who focus on facial procedures like rhinoplasty, chin implants, cheek implants and non-invasive cosmetic techniques.
“We know that surgeons who focus on facial procedures also need precise and accurate 3D image capture, in a compact and easy-to-use package,” said Paul Moffett, Co-founder and Director of Engineering for Axis Three. “Serving as a vehicle for delivering our simulation software, the XS-200 addresses this need, simplifying the patient consultation process and building patient confidence in the surgical result.”
The XS-200 hardware can address the full suite of 3D image capture required for invasive face simulations, including simulations for chin, cheek, nose and jaw procedures, and non-invasive procedures, including dermabrasion, chemical peels, facial fillers and Botox. The XS-200 and face simulation module, along with all planned updates and upgrades, are available for $22,750.
