New Version of Zipix Lite Application Offers More Powerful Photo Enhancement Capabilities

Avid and casual photographers alike now have access to even more powerful photo enhancement capabilities with Color Leap, an improved edition of the former Zipix Lite application.

The change in the application name reflects the recent change of the underlying company. Using proprietary technology, Color Leap allows consumers to instantly and automatically enhance their photos. Initially available exclusively from the iPhone Application Store, Color Leap has added image sharpening and noise reduction to the application that makes it easy to improve photo quality on-the-go. The newly added capabilities improve the photo quality in low-light conditions and for objects that are slightly out of focus.

Top features of the Color Leap application:

  • Fully automatic image enhancement -- instantly!
  • No user input or manual adjustments required -- no buttons, sliders or drop-down menus
  • Corrects under-exposed and over-exposed regions of photos
  • Corrects degradation of images from environmental factors such as haze and smog
  • Reduces the colored noise speckles that commonly occur in low-light conditions
  • Sharpens image objects that are slightly out of focus
  • Original and Enhanced image comparisons -- select and save your best photo choices
  • Provides the ability to enhance existing photos from the iPhone's Camera Roll or Photo Library
  • Crop and Zoom feature -- zoom in on photos and crop to size

With Color Leap, iPhone users can enhance photos captured with the device's built-in camera or images previously saved to the iPhone photo library. Simply open the Color Leap application on your iPhone and snap photos; Color Leap automatically enhances your images while giving you the option to zoom in and crop.

Color Leap instantly fixes over-exposed and under-exposed parts of an image. It improves contrast, sharpness and clarity while controlling pixel noise that often becomes evident under low-light conditions. Color Leap is fully software-based and requires no changes to your mobile handset.

"More and more people are deciding to leave their point-and-shoot camera behind in favor of their camera phone," said Color Leap's Chief Scientist Igor Zlokarnik. "We want to make sure they are not leaving the photo quality behind in the process."

The Color Leap application is available for free in the iPhone Application Store where it can be found under the Photography category in the Free Applications section. The application is compatible with the original iPhone 3G and the new iPhone 3GS.
