Stemmer Imaging Announces New IDS uEye XS Camera

The new IDS uEye XS camera available from STEMMER IMAGING measures just 22 x 24 x 24 mm, yet it offers an 8 Megapixel sensor complete with an auto focus lens and a USB 2.0 interface. Despite its small size, the uEye XS is packed with features, including electronic image stabilization, automatic image control, backlight compensation and a complete SDK featuring face detection and tracking.

The built-in face tracking facility can detect and track up to four different faces in real time and also provides the viewing angle of every face it detects. The electronic image stabilizer minimizes image blur caused by camera motion and vibration. The IDS uEye XS also comes with automatic image controls such as Auto Exposure and Auto White Balance that allows the user to achieve optimum image quality under varying lighting conditions.

The Auto Focus system has a horizontal viewing angle of 53° and has a minimum focusing distance of 100 mm. Auto Focus is also tracked even during live image acquisition at a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and a 15 fps frame rate. Both uncompressed and MJPEG format are supported for data transfer and single images can be read out with the full 8 Megapixel resolution.
