The University of West Georgia, Carrollton, Ga., unveiled their brand new football stadium with a state-of-the-art video and scoring system designed, manufactured and installed by Daktronics Inc. (Nasdaq-DAKT) of Brookings S.D.
“The clarity, graphics and overall appearance of the new displays have provided our crowd with a high energy presentation that we really appreciate,” said Eddie Duffey, Assistant Athletic Director of Development and Operations. “The excitement of the game day presentation has been a great avenue toward crowd participation as well as recognizing all corporate sponsors of West Georgia athletics. The very strong support staff at Daktronics has been a great help from the beginning of the process.”
University Stadium, the new home to Wolves football, debuted this fall with a large Daktronics LED (light emitting diode) video display measuring approximately 13 feet high by 22 feet wide. The video board can operate as one display showing a single large image or be divided into multiple zones (windows) to show a wide variety of statistics, information, graphics, animations and live and recorded video.
Daktronics also provided an LED football scoreboard below the video screen. Measuring 36 feet wide, the dependable scoreboard comes complete with bright LED digits and programmable team name displays.
Wolves’ fans and players will be informed and entertained all season long with an additional 34 foot wide LED display located under the scoreboard. This display provides fans with in-game information, out-of-town scores, promotional messages and crowd prompts that create an interactive experience. Sponsors of UWG athletics also have creative opportunities to get their messages across through motion graphics and other eye-catching content.
All entering University Stadium will be reminded that they are in the Wolves den with decorated identification and sponsor displays surrounding the integrated football display system.
Daktronics will also provide new scoring displays to UWG’s soccer and softball facilities in the near future. Daktronics recently installed a state-of-the-art four-sided centerhung display to The Coliseum, home to Wolves basketball.
