GigOptix Inc. (OTCBB: GGOX), a leading provider of electronic engines for the optically connected digital world, announced today the continuation of their contract with the US Air Force Research Laboratory, valued at approximately $2.7 million over the next 12 months, to carry on fabricating reliable, low driving voltage, electro-optic modulators using GigOptix's high-performance organic polymers.
“The demand for satellite systems and phased array radar that require reliable high-bandwidth electro-optic modulators with low driving voltages and wide bandwidths persists,” stated Dr. Raluca Dinu, Vice President of Advanced Development at GigOptix. “We continue to meet the requirements requested by the Air Force Research Laboratory and are privileged to be able to foster the relationship.”
Due to their high electro-optic coefficient and low dielectric constant, GigOptix’ electro-optic polymers are well suited to meet the high-bandwidth, reduced weight and size, and immunity to electromagnetic interference requirements, that is crucial for many military applications.
