Infinera (NASDAQ: INFN) will exhibit at SCTE's first-ever Canadian Summit, in Toronto February 3-4 at the Toronto Congress Centre. Infinera has pioneered Digital Optical Networking with the Infinera DTN, a Digital ROADM based on large-scale photonic integration. The unique advantages in scalability, flexibility, speed of service delivery, and simplicity of operation have generated great interest in the cable industry, with the result that Infinera systems are now deployed in metro or long-haul networks in every one of the five largest cable operators in the U.S.
Cable operators in Canada are facing the challenges of building out scalable networks to accommodate exponential growth in bandwidth demand, and offering a range of services across their networks to maximize revenue while keeping costs under control. At the SCTE Canadian Summit, Infinera representatives will explain how the Infinera system, with its unique photonic integration technology and digital architecture, can help operators meet these challenges while optimizing their networks for triple-play services, video multi-casting, and head-end consolidation. At the Summit, Infinera will display the features and capabilities of the Infinera DTN on an innovative 3D interactive touch-screen display. The new display technology provides guests with an intimate virtual tour of the Infinera platform, including line cards and interchangeable tributary adapter modules.
Infinera is also leading the way to enhanced fiber capacity and 100 Gigabit services. Infinera recently introduced the Infinera ILS2 line system, delivering 1.6 Terabits/second (Tb/s) of optical capacity per fiber today, designed to be scalable to 8 Tb/s in the future. Last year, Infinera demonstrated 100 Gigabit Ethernet services transported across today's networks without any optical layer re-engineering. The Infinera booth at the SCTE Summit will be staffed by experienced Infinera sales and marketing staff who can provide further insight into Infinera's unique architecture, systems, and the underlying photonic integration technology.
