Refeyn Launches Software Platform to Automate Mass Photometry Analysis Workflows

Refeyn, the company behind pioneering mass photometry technologies, has developed and launched a custom software platform providing automated analysis of large mass photometry data sets. Refeyn’s new StreamlineMP software suite offers specialist analysis modules, automating data processing through standardized workflows for key bioanalytical applications to deliver more consistent results in a shorter time.

StreamlineMP is a complementary modular software platform to DiscoverMP, Refeyn’s well-established and powerful data analysis software which accommodates a wide range of analytical options. DiscoverMP offers broad flexibility that is highly desirable for many users, yet for some, who want a standardized analysis workflow across a large number of datasets, it can prove time consuming. Through its suite of application-specific module options, StreamlineMP supports these customers who need to apply repeated analysis parameters to large datasets for individual applications. Its use reduces analysis time and ensures the consistency of analytical parameters, which are not automatically standardized across users when analysis is carried out manually.

The first application-specific module to be added to the new StreamlineMP software suite is Refeyn’s Antibody Stability Module, which automatically characterizes aggregation in large batches of antibody samples in a fraction of the time required for manual analysis. This dedicated software module delivers robust statistics on aggregation levels for replicate groups. Designed for extensive datasets obtained in antibody stability analysis, the module enables a simple comparison of stress conditions or antibody types. This is an ideal solution for monitoring aggregation as a critical quality attribute (CQA) for therapeutic antibodies.

Cutting the analysis time of antibody data by 80% or more, this new StreamlineMP module’s automated data analysis complements the high speed, resolution and sensitivity of mass photometry, providing unrivalled insights into antibody aggregation. The Antibody Stability Module offers: A guided workflow, the ability to group replicate measurements for statistical analysis, and output of the key parameters characterizing the aggregation of the antibodies in the sample.

“Recognizing our customer needs and further enhancing the speed and ease-of-use of our expanding mass photometry range, we’re pleased to introduce StreamlineMP to offer tailored solutions for the automation of large dataset analysis,” said Fiona Coats, Chief Marketing Officer at Refeyn. “Combined with the strengths of mass photometry as a rapid, reliable solution for antibody aggregation analysis, we see our first software application, the Antibody Stability Module, becoming an essential tool for in-process purity and stability analysis for therapeutic antibodies.”

Proving the efficacy of its new StreamlineMP automated aggregation analysis capabilities, Refeyn has also released a tech note discussing “Quantifying antibody aggregation at nano- and micromolar sample concentrations with the mass photometry Antibody Stability Module”. Here, Refeyn’s TwoMP mass photometer and MassFluidix® HC rapid dilution add-on are used with the Antibody Stability Module to efficiently analyze aggregation in a selection of antibody standards. The new antibody aggregation tech note shows the speed and ease by which antibody aggregation can be quantified using mass photometry analysis streamlined with the new Antibody Stability Module.
