These traditionally transmissive optics are made from fused silica and are suitable for short pulse applications where minimizing temporal dispersion is critical, as thin substrates are available.

For industrial applications using high-power ultrashort pulse lasers, where even slight dispersion is unacceptable, reflective versions of any DOE can be made with high LDT dielectric mirror coatings.

From spiral phase plates to top-hat beam shapers, reflective DOEs can be designed for any AOI, offering the same precision and performance as transmissive DOEs with zero temporal dispersion.
