Change in the IDS Management as of 1 August

On 1 August, the shareholders of IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH appointed Alexander Lewinsky to the management board. The engineer (BEng, MSc) will take over the operational management of the Obersulm-based industrial camera manufacturer together with Jan Hartmann. Managing partner and company founder Jürgen Hartmann remains responsible for development and product management.

The company thus relies on internal staff: Alexander Lewinsky has been part of the IDS team since 2012, first as product manager, then as purchasing manager and division manager for production/logistics and quality assurance. In Obersulm, he will continue to be mainly responsible for purchasing, production, logistics, quality assurance and infrastructure. "With Alexander Lewinsky, IDS is getting an experienced employee in the industry as Managing Director, who has accompanied the development of the company for 9 years and has had a significant influence on the entire Operations division, not least through structuring and optimisation measures," says Jürgen Hartmann. His son Jan Hartmann is responsible for administration, sales, system consulting and marketing.

"I am very pleased about the appointment and look forward to working even more closely with Jürgen and Jan Hartmann," explains Lewinsky, who has been part of the extended management team as an authorised signatory since March last year.

Early preparation for a generational change in one's own family business is close to the heart of founder Jürgen Hartmann: "Continuity and reliability are particularly important to us in relation to our partners and customers. With the rejuvenation of the IDS management, we are very optimistic about the future". The positive order situation and the strong development of foreign business give the camera manufacturer every reason to do so, despite the challenging procurement situation.

Since its foundation in 1997 as a two-man company, IDS has developed into an independent, ISO-certified family business with more than 330 employees. The headquarters in Obersulm, Baden-Württemberg, is both a development and production site. With branches in the USA, Japan, South Korea and UK as well as offices in Europe, IDS is represented internationally.
